Bishop John Henderson returns home safely
Last evening, 24 May 2017, LCA Bishop John Henderson arrived home safely in Adelaide, having flown from Windhoek, Namibia. While attending the LWF Assembly in Windhoek, he had suffered a heart attack and was required to stay in the country until it was safe for him to travel. He was accompanied on his return journey by Mrs Glenice Hartwich (Assistant to the Bishop – International Mission), who had stayed in Namibia to support him.
Bishop John has commenced a recuperation period of about a month.
Acting LCA Bishop Dr Andrew Pfeiffer and LCA Secretary Rev Neville Otto this morning thanked the LCA/NZ for their prayers for Bishop John and asked members ‘to continue to pray that God will restore him to full health, and also for [his wife] Valmai, their family and others who will support him through this time’.
