What is worship?
Come, let us bow down and worship him; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!
He is our God;
we are the people he cares for,
the flock for which he provides.
(verses 6,7)
Read Psalm 95:1-7a
This psalm describes the moods of worship. There is singing, praising and thanking. There is telling what God has done for us. There is listening to God’s warnings (verses 8-11).
Worship begins with joyful and enthusiastic song, and it moves to wonder as you humbly realise that the God who made the universe cares about you. He who embraces the cosmos has his chosen flock in his hands. They are so precious that he puts his own life at stake to protect them and provide for them.
Saviour God, thank you for the times I have known reverence and awe, enthusiasm and hilarity in your presence. I bless you for your care and protection for me. Amen.
