Understanding Jesus
Behind him came Simon Peter, and he went straight into the tomb. He saw the linen wrappings lying there and the cloth which had been round Jesus’ head. It was not lying with the linen wrappings but was rolled up by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in; he saw and believed. (verses 6-8)

When Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb of Jesus on that first Easter morning, they didn’t know what to expect. All they had heard was that Jesus had been taken from the tomb. But by whom? And why? Even when they reached the empty tomb and went in, they still didn’t understand the scripture which said that Jesus must rise from death. But they knew something had happened.
Maybe you have heard parts of the good news of Jesus that have been difficult to understand. Maybe you have spent time thinking and praying about the message God has given you, but have not fully understood its meaning.
Have patience; wait for your Lord. He will come with his blessing of peace and will give you the assurance that the trust you have in him is never in vain.
Lord Jesus, please come to me. Show me that you are alive, and give me your peace. Amen
