Posthumous award for Rick Zweck
The Lutheran has won a silver award at this year’s Australasian Religious Press Association (ARPA) awards ceremony held in Sydney in September.
The recognition in the Best Faith Reflection category was given posthumously for a feature story by the late Pastor Rick Zweck.
Published in the November 2015 issue, ‘Life in the hard lane’ powerfully and personally relayed Pastor Rick’s battle with Motor Neurone Disease. The piece gave a moving account of the lessons of loss and isolation, as well as God’s care through strangers and the one certainty of a future in his hands. Pastor Rick died in July this year.
The 2016 Gutenberg Award, ARPA’s premier annual accolade, was won by Graeme Cole, Wesley Mission’s public affairs manager and editor of Wesley Impact! magazine. Mr Cole has worked for almost 30 years in the ministry of Christian media and communications.
The Lutheran won the Gutenberg in 2011.
