Marinating in the Gospel

6 January 2016

by LCA Communications

LCA church-planting mentor Dean Eaton invites us to soak up the RENEW Mission Life series.

‘The only concept of mission into which God fits is the one of which he is the beginning, the centre and the end’ Christopher Wright, The Mission of God

The purpose of the Board for Local Mission’s new five-week RENEW Mission Life sermon series and Bible studies is to help you grow in your understanding of, and participation in, God’s mission in the world.

To achieve this, congregations engage in an intensive season of dwelling in God’s word, marinating in the gospel, immersing its dialogue in prayer, and engaging in fresh opportunities identified for local mission. Shortly afterwards a new kind of small group is launched.

The RENEW Love.Life Communities Bible study series is for people and congregations interested in forming a missional community for evangelism and nurturing converts. There are eight studies designed to help form and train you and your congregation’s team. You can start the season whenever you are ready.

Meet Dean

Dean Eaton is the Board for Local Mission’s church planting mentor and mission facilitator. His job is to facilitate, train and mentor congregations, leaders and church planters to sow the gospel and reap the harvest. Dean has participated with Christ in planting 21 new congregations in both rural and urban settings in Australia and Japan.

The Board for Local Mission aims to plant 30 new churches in 10 years. Dean is working with 10 LCA/NZ congregations as they set out on the journey of church planting.

Find out how you or your congregation can support this exciting venture in the gospel. Contact Dean at dean.eaton@lca.org.au
