Live in Christ

13 August 2019

For we know that Christ has been raised from death and will never die again—death will no longer rule over him. And so, because he died, sin has no power over him; and now he lives his life in fellowship with God. In the same way you are to think of yourselves as dead, so far as sin is concerned, but living in fellowship with God through Christ Jesus. (verses 9-11)

Read Romans 6:1-11

Have you ever been in a very long queue and had to wait hours to get into a show or to go on a ride? Imagine that when you were there you saw a celebrity or an important looking person being ushered to the front. How would you have felt? Envious? Wishing it was you who could skip the line?

As a Christian, you have skipped the queue to heaven, only this is a queue with a difference, for no-one enters heaven by standing around waiting. Christ died so that you are not stuck m your sinful state. Because you are ‘living in fellowship with God through Christ Jesus’, you are ushered into his presence, a VIP with a free entry pass to eternal life.

Lord, you died so that death would have no power over me. Help me to live in fellowship with you now and forever. Amen.
