Hope back on the playlist

27 February 2016

by Richard Fox

‘Where’s hope when …?’

It is a question that many people ask, especially in a crisis.

More than 250,000 people in Auckland, New Zealand, are hearing where there is real and lasting hope. For some of them, it may be the first time that they have heard this message of hope in Jesus Christ.

On 1 February 2016, Face to Face NZ was heard by more than 250,000 people on Newstalk ZB and The Hits radio stations. Played alongside songs by artists such as Katy Perry, Pink and Michael Jackson, the good news of Jesus Christ is reaching the ears and into the hearts of people throughout New Zealand.

When people hear the radio message, they’re invited to read a booklet offering hope in Jesus or they can contact us through our website.

They can also follow us on Facebook and on Twitter @facetofacenz.

Lutheran Media thanks the Lutheran Church of New Zealand for its support and the efforts of volunteers at Mountainside Lutheran Church, Auckland. Thanks to them and to all of you who support the work of Lutheran Media through your prayers and donations, the people of
New Zealand are seeing Jesus’ love come to life.

You can join with us through your prayers, encouragement and donations. Visit the Lutheran Media website for more information.

Pastor Richard Fox is the Director of Lutheran Media.

What they are saying about Face to Face NZ

‘I think of Face to Face NZ as something of a breakthrough … even a miracle … that after almost 15 years since Lutheran Media was last on the air, the Holy Spirit has paved the way for us to once again get to tell people about Jesus and his love for them via radio in New Zealand … but this time on the No.1 commercial radio network! NZ ME is a radio network that reaches thousands of people with all sorts of information, and now laced throughout all that information is going to be the message of God’s grace and love. And it’s an opportunity also for our small church in New Zealand to connect with Kiwis as they respond to the gospel. It’s wonderful news – the gospel itself, and the fact that we get to share it.’

– LCNZ Bishop Mark Whitfield

‘For the first time in many years the gospel is being broadcast on a secular radio reaching hundreds of thousands of people on the No.1 radio station in NZ. People will hear about Jesus in a casual way that will reach many hearts, with the ability to respond to a message. (For members) of Mountainside it allows us to be part of a very exciting ministry where we can reach thousands of people and make a difference in their lives, which may open the door for them to accept Jesus or help them live and deal with what is going on in their lives.’

– Ray Meharg, member at Mountainside Lutheran Church

‘That is the best news!!!!’

– Gary Hoogvliet, Rhema Media NZ

‘I join in rejoicing with you that Face to Face will “show its face” on radio in NZ, after all these years.’

– Pastor Ed Koch, former New Zealand Lutheran Media speaker.

‘Great to hear of these exciting new opportunities. Praise the Lord that we are able to expand ministry in this time and in this world that so desperately needs the gospel.’

– Kurt Buchholz, President & CEO of Lutheran Hour Ministries

‘What a great opportunity to proclaim the gospel.’

– Rev Dr Doug Rutt, Director of Lutheran Hour International Ministries
