History award for archives volunteer
Veteran Lutheran Archives volunteer Dr Lois Zweck has received a Life-Long History Achievement Award from the History Council of South Australia.
Dr Zweck, who has a doctorate in German Studies from the University of Adelaide, has conducted research spanning many areas, from genealogy and family history through to the histories of Germans in Australia and literary studies. Her work has been published in periodicals such as the Journal of Friends of Lutheran Archives and The Lutheran Theological Journal, and in books. As President of the Friends of Lutheran Archives for 19 years, she organised popular public lectures.
Dr Zweck was presented the award, along with her co-winner, sports historian Bernard Whimpress, by the Governor of South Australia, the Honourable Hieu Van Le, on 31 May.
