Have your say on LCA/NZ Constitution
The LCA/NZ Constitution is being reviewed and all church members, congregations, ministries, districts, boards and agencies are invited to participate by completing an online survey before the end of April.
The General Church Board is conducting the review on behalf of the LCA’s General Synod.
LCA Executive Officer of the Church Peter Schirmer said the survey was part of Phase 1 of the review.
‘Our LCA Constitution has served us well for more than 50 years, but it is now in need of a review for a number of reasons, and as we seek to be faithful to Christ, live the gospel and thrive in the 21st century’, he said. ‘We give thanks to those church members who initially developed the constitution and to those who have provided ongoing stewardship and maintenance of it.
‘In Phase 1 of the review, we will discern key principles upon which to rewrite the constitution. In 2021 the General Church Board will decide if, when and how we will move into Phase 2, planning for the actual updating of our constitution based on and subject to the approval of the principles at the 2021 General Synod.’
You can find out more and access the survey via the review webpage. The survey will remain open until 30 April 2020.
