Cool water
‘You can be sure that whoever gives even a drink of cold water to one of the least of these my followers because he is my follower, will certainly receive a reward.’ (verse 42)
Read Matthew 10: 40-42
We were doing a tough walk through the bush. The day was hot and I was feeling parched. We came across a spring of cool clear water coming out of a rock. Someone had put a bamboo in the spring so that water was running freely and we all could have a drink. We felt refreshed after that and were able to go on further.
There’s a whole world out there dying of thirst. There are people who don’t have access to pure water. Many of them are Christ’s followers. What are you doing to give them cool water? Then there are those who are dying of thirst of another kind. They need the cool clear fresh water, the living water, of the good news of Jesus Christ. What are you doing to quench their thirst?
Dear God, thank you for the refreshing water of your love. Help me to share it with those who are thirsty for you. Amen.
